On the evening of August 8th 2007, Flight Lieutenant David Sale was tragically killed in a helicopter crash in a field near Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire.
He died together with his Crewman Sergeant Phillip Burfoot and one of his passengers, Private Sean Tait of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
On July 28th 2008, 12 of his friends will start a journey from Durham to RAF Benson, Oxfordshire, to commemorate the life of David Oxer Hanson Sale and to raise money for two very worthy charities. Amongst the participants, representing the Sale family, will be his brother Tom.
We have chosen to take up this challenge so that on this, the first anniversary of David’s death, we shall remember him in a way in which he would have greatly approved.
